Stovie ("we", "us") makes the Stovie iOS app. This policy explains what data the app collects and how it is used. There are no user accounts and no sign-up.
The app generates a random identifier and stores it on your device. It is sent with API calls so our server can apply your usage limits (like the free plan's weekly import count). It is not tied to your name, email, or Apple ID.
When you paste a video link, the app sends that link to our server. Our server fetches the page, transcribes the video's audio with an AI speech-to-text model, and writes out the recipe (ingredients and steps) with an AI language model.
Imported recipes, along with their cover image and video, are stored in our catalog and shown to other users in the app's feed. Put plainly: a recipe you import can be seen by other Stovie users, not just you.
Recipes you save to your library and your shopping list are stored locally on your device, not on our servers.
Stovie Pro subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment details.
The app reads your device's pasteboard (clipboard) only when you tap the Paste button, to fill in a video link. It does not read the pasteboard automatically or in the background.
We show no ads and use no third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.
Deleting the app removes your locally stored recipes and shopping list from your device. To ask us to remove recipes you imported from the shared catalog, contact us at support@getstovie.com.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
